First Manta Ray Night Snorkeling Tour - Dolphin Discoveries

After boarding our spacious 50-foot catamaran Dolphin Discoveries, you will coast to the World Famous Big island snorkeling tours. The Travel Channel says, "It's one of the top ten things to do in your lifetime."

ITINERARY

World Famous Manta-Ray Village will be visited by Dolphin Discoveries. Snorkeling with these Manta Rays is reportedly one of the ten most incredible things you can do in your lifetime, and Sea Paradise has been offering their guests this experience since 1985, which has made them Hawaii's original tour experts.

CHECK-IN

We require guests to sign electronic waivers prior to check-in and meet at the beach at Keauhou Bay, located at the end of Kaleiopapa Street, Kailua Kona, HI 96740.  We ask that you do not check into any buildings. The restrooms are located on the east side of Kaleiopapa Street near the parking lot on the east side of the street. The ship itself also has a restroom.

A crew member will meet you at the end of the pier 15 minutes before departure and fit you for wetsuits before you board Dolphin Discoveries, a 50ft sailing catamaran with a blue sail bag. Make sure you wear swimwear to the wetsuit fitting.

DROP OFF

Return to Keauhou Bay approx. 1.5 to 2 hrs from release time.

THINGS TO BRING

Gear can only be stowed in a limited amount of space. The Sea Paradise operates a footwear-free boat, so please wear sandals or shoes that can easily be removed. You can also bring an underwater camera as long as the flash is turned off. We recommend bringing a towel, a cover-up, a light jacket, or a sweater for after you get out of the water. Tipping is not included in the price of the tour but is highly appreciated.

Snorkel gear is supplied on all of our tours. Due to safety concerns, we are no longer allowing full-face snorkeling masks on our excursions.

IN THE WATER

You will receive a knowledge-based and professional briefing as soon as you arrive at the Manta Ray Village.
In the evening, our staff will prepare and guide you to our state-of-the-art "manta floatation device" for snorkeling guests. The float rests above the manta rays as they feed on the microscopic plankton that rises from the bottom of the ocean at night. This plankton is attracted by the light attached to the float. Guests with skilled snorkeling skills can hold onto the float as they feed on the plankton. Kona snorkeling time is approximately 45 minutes long.

From the comfort of our 50-foot catamaran in the World Famous Manta Ray Village, our guests can watch majestic manta rays feeding on microscopic plankton.
